A police operation led by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Kenya resulted in the arrest of 29 individuals and the seizure of contraband goods valued at 62.7 million shillings. The operation, which focused on illegal trade, also led to the rescue of seven suspected victims of human trafficking. Authorities recovered 85 Kenyan passports during the operation.
The operation was part of a broader effort to combat illegal activities in the region. The arrested individuals are suspected of involvement in the trafficking of goods and people. The recovered passports were found in a location linked to the trafficking network.
This is the second major operation by the DCI this month aimed at disrupting organized crime. Previous actions have targeted smuggling and illegal immigration. The current operation highlights the ongoing efforts to strengthen law enforcement in the area. The rescued individuals are now under police protection and will be processed for further legal action.
