The Public Service Commission (PSC) in Kenya has issued a warning to citizens about fraudulent appointment letters circulating in government departments. The alert came in a press statement released on Thursday, October 29, 2026. The commission said the fake documents are being used to trick people into believing they have been hired by government agencies.
The PSC emphasized that these letters are part of employment scams targeting the public. Officials urged Kenyans to verify any official correspondence before taking action. The warning follows reports of increasing incidents of fraud linked to government employment.
This is not the first time the PSC has addressed such issues. Similar warnings were issued in 2024 and 2025, highlighting a recurring problem. The commission has called for greater public awareness and tighter verification processes to prevent such scams. The latest alert comes amid heightened concerns about online fraud in Kenya.
