In Nairobi, fuel prices have increased following a regulatory adjustment by the Energy Regulatory Authority (EPRA). The regulator announced new retail prices for petroleum products, effective immediately. A litre of Super Petrol now costs Sh226.96, up from the previous rate. Diesel prices have also risen to Sh227.76 per litre. Kerosene prices climbed to Sh219.87 per litre.
The price changes reflect adjustments to the cost of fuel, with petrol increasing by Sh12.93, diesel by Sh9.90, and kerosene by Sh28.49. These adjustments come as part of routine price monitoring and regulation by EPRA. The authority stated that the new prices are based on current market conditions and supply chain factors.
Fuel price changes in Nairobi have been a recurring issue in recent months. Fluctuations are often linked to global oil prices, transportation costs, and local market dynamics. The latest update follows similar adjustments in the past few weeks, with consumers reporting increased expenses at the pump. EPRA has emphasized its role in ensuring transparency and stability in the fuel market. The impact of these changes is expected to be felt across various sectors, including transportation and retail.
