Kenya is set to receive Sh90.9 million in annual funding from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations. This marks a 33 per cent increase from the previous allocation. The additional funding amounts to approximately USD175,000, or Sh22.7 million, per association.

The 2027 Africa Cup of Nations is officially scheduled to take place in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania from 19 June to 17 July. However, concerns over stadium construction delays and organisational challenges have raised doubts about the tournament's ability to proceed on time. Some reports suggest the event may be postponed to the Christmas and New Year period. CAF president Patrice Motsepe has publicly stated that preparations are ongoing, but no official confirmation has been given regarding the postponement.

The tournament, which is set to be hosted by three East African nations, was initially announced in 2021. Kenya has been a host nation for several previous Africa Cup of Nations editions, including in 2018. The current delays have sparked discussions about the readiness of infrastructure and the coordination between host countries. While CAF has expressed confidence in the event's organisation, the uncertainty has led to increased scrutiny of the logistical preparations.
