The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has expelled McDonald Mariga and six National Executive Committee members following a Special General Meeting in Meru County. The decision came after allegations of repeated violations of the FKF Constitution and FIFA regulations.

The meeting, held in Meru, was marked by tension as members debated the disciplinary actions. Police used tear gas to control the crowd during the event. Mariga, a former Hrambee Stars player, was removed from his position as vice president. The FKF cited serious breaches of conduct and governance rules as the basis for the expulsion.

This is not the first time Mariga has faced disciplinary action. Previous reports indicate he was previously reprimanded for similar violations. The FKF has emphasized the need for strict adherence to its constitution and international football regulations. The expelled officials are no longer part of the National Executive Committee. The federation has not yet announced plans for a replacement or further disciplinary measures.
