The Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development Kenya (ICCDK) has appointed five new board members to enhance its efforts in linking local businesses with markets across the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states. The OIC comprises 57 countries, offering significant opportunities for Kenyan firms seeking to expand their trade networks.
The new board members bring diverse expertise in commerce, finance, and international trade, aiming to strengthen Kenya’s presence in OIC markets. The ICCDK, a key trade organization, has been working to facilitate business connections between Kenyan companies and international partners. This move follows increased interest from Kenyan firms in tapping into the OIC’s vast economic potential.
Kenya has long sought to diversify its trade relationships beyond traditional partners. The OIC represents a growing market with a combined population of over 1.8 billion people. By focusing on OIC markets, Kenyan businesses aim to access new customers and investment opportunities. The ICCDK’s new board will play a central role in developing strategies to support this expansion.
