Kenya and Türkiye have announced plans to expand their health partnership, focusing on specialist training, hospital development, and technology transfer. Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale highlighted Kenya’s goal to benefit from Türkiye’s experience in strengthening primary healthcare, digital health, local manufacturing, and research.
The collaboration emerged during a meeting between Duale and outgoing Turkish Ambassador to Kenya Subutay Yüksel. Discussions centered on deepening cooperation in the health sector, with a focus on new hospital projects and the establishment of specialist healthcare services. The agreement also includes provisions for technology transfer, aiming to enhance medical capabilities in Kenya.
This partnership follows ongoing efforts by Kenya to modernize its healthcare infrastructure. The Uwezo Hospitals plan, which is part of the broader collaboration, aims to improve access to quality medical services across the country. The initiative reflects Kenya’s commitment to leveraging international expertise to address local health challenges. The new hospitals are expected to be built in key regions, with a focus on capacity building and sustainable healthcare solutions.
