Deputy President Kithure Kindiki of Kenya has arrived in Ethiopia to participate in the 12th Tana High-Level Forum on Security in Africa. The forum, held in Bahir Dar, brings together political leaders, policymakers, and security experts to address pressing issues facing the continent. Kindiki departed from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on Saturday, October 24, 2026, marking the start of his participation in the event.
The Tana Forum focuses on economic sovereignty, geopolitical shifts, and pathways to peace in Africa. Discussions are taking place as concerns over regional security grow, with global powers increasingly influencing Africa’s development priorities. The forum aims to foster collaboration among African nations to strengthen stability and address emerging challenges.
This gathering follows recent diplomatic visits, including President John Dramani Mahama of Ghana, who arrived in Ethiopia to inaugurate the Megech Irrigation Project. The timing of the forum highlights the growing importance of regional cooperation in navigating complex security and economic landscapes. The Tana Forum has become a key platform for African leaders to shape policies that promote peace and self-determination.
