Kenya is among six IGAD nations experiencing a deepening food crisis, with over 4.1 million people facing acute food insecurity, according to recent reports. The situation reached its peak during April-June 2026, affecting 22 percent of the arid and semi-arid land (ASAL) and refugee populations.
