Vehicle operator error was identified as the main cause of petroleum and LPG accidents in Kenya, according to a recent report. The findings highlight a significant risk factor in the transportation of hazardous materials.

The study, conducted by local authorities, analyzed accident data over the past year. It found that 46.3 percent of incidents were due to driver or human error. This was followed by third-party or other vehicle involvement, which accounted for 20.7 percent of cases.

Previous reports had noted a rise in road accidents involving flammable substances. This latest analysis adds to growing concerns about safety protocols in the transport sector. Experts suggest that better training and stricter enforcement could help reduce such incidents.
