Kenyan authorities have been directed to produce advocate Abshir Ahmedsadak Abdi in court by 2 pm Wednesday. The National Police Service and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) were ordered to account for Abdi’s whereabouts and provide any lawful warrants for his arrest and detention.
The directive comes after reports of Abdi’s abduction, which have raised concerns among legal professionals. Former Law Society of Kenya president Faith Odhiambo called for urgent action, urging the police and DCI to locate the advocate. In a statement posted on X on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, Odhiambo emphasized the need for transparency and accountability in the case.
This is the second time Abdi has been reported missing, according to local media. His disappearance has sparked discussions about legal protections for advocates and the role of law enforcement in safeguarding individuals. The court order is part of ongoing efforts to resolve the case, though no official confirmation of his current status has been released.
The case highlights challenges in ensuring the safety of legal professionals in Kenya. While the DCI and police have been tasked with providing information, no details have been disclosed about the circumstances of Abdi’s abduction or any arrests made. The situation remains under investigation.
