Uganda and Somalia have signed a labor agreement aimed at protecting workers' rights, according to Uganda’s Labour Minister Henry Tumukunde. The deal is intended to address ongoing complaints from workers, including issues related to delayed or unpaid salaries.

The agreement was signed during a bilateral meeting between officials from both countries. Tumukunde emphasized that the pact would help improve labor conditions and ensure fair treatment for workers. The focus is on resolving disputes over wages and working conditions, particularly in sectors where cross-border labor is common.

This labor agreement follows years of discussions between Uganda and Somalia on improving labor standards and worker protections. Both nations have faced challenges in enforcing labor laws, especially in regions with high migration and informal employment. The new agreement is expected to provide a framework for resolving disputes and promoting better labor practices.
