The Kenya Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has expanded its voter registration efforts to include more than 26 countries, allowing Kenyans living abroad to participate in the 2027 elections. This move comes as the commission reaffirms the constitutional right of overseas citizens to vote, regardless of their current residence status. IEBC chairman Erastus Ethekon emphasized that the initiative ensures that all Kenyans, whether inside or outside the country, have equal access to the electoral process. The expansion follows recent efforts to streamline registration procedures and improve outreach to the diaspora community. The updated list of participating countries aims to cover more regions where Kenyan expatriates are concentrated, facilitating easier access to voting facilities.
