President William Ruto officially handed over the Raila Odinga Mausoleum in Bondo, Siaya County, on October 7, 2026. The ceremony marked the completion of a memorial dedicated to the late former Prime Minister. Ruto described Raila Odinga’s political career as “equitable transformation,” highlighting his contributions to Kenya’s democratic development.
The event included a presidential citation honoring Raila Odinga’s role in the nation’s political and democratic history. The mausoleum, located at Kang’o ka Jaramogi, was dedicated to preserve his legacy. Family members also participated, with Jaoko Oburu delivering a tribute on behalf of his hospitalized father, Oburu Oginga, who was part of the same democratic movement.
