The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has authorized charges against former Sports Minister Kaberia and nine others, including former government officials and businessmen, over allegations of embezzling Sh330 million from the Council for Human and Animal Welfare (CHAN) funds. The charges come after an investigation into the misuse of public funds, which the DPP claims was orchestrated through fraudulent activities. Kaberia, who previously held a senior position in the sports ministry, is now among ten individuals facing legal action. The case highlights ongoing concerns about financial mismanagement in public sectors. Authorities have not yet disclosed the exact nature of the alleged fraud, but preliminary reports suggest the funds were diverted for personal gain. The legal proceedings are expected to unfold in the coming weeks, with the accused set to appear before a court.
